President Michael D. Higgins addressed the General Assembly of the United Nations.

In his speech, the President said that “building and sustaining peace is an enormous task, yet one that we must achieve together as a community of nations.”

Drawing from the experiences of the peace process in Northern Ireland, the President said that “Peace does not come without engaging with the experience of the Other.”
