President and Sabina Higgins attended a special performance by the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra of Benjamin Britten's War Requiem, marking the centenary of the Armistice which ended the First World War.
The President has attended many events commemorating the horrors of the First World War, both in Ireland and abroad, including the centenary commemorations of the Battle of Gallipoli and an event marking the centenary of the Battle of the Somme.
