President and Sabina attend the 'Peace, Love & Protest: UCD 1969' a commemorative show on the 'Gentle Revolution'

Location: (Dublin) National Concert Hall, John Field Room

President and Sabina Higgins attended a show commemorating the “Gentle Revolution” of student protests at UCD in 1969.

In February 1969, Students for Democratic Action occupied the administration block at UCD at Earslfort Terrace, which eventually led to a general strike of 10,000 students who, instead of attending lectures, held a series of mass seminars and teach-ins on the future of the university.
