President Higgins attended Paul Durcan: 80 at 80, an evening of Paul Durcan’s poetry at the Gate Theatre celebrating the poet’s 80th birthday.
The President has long supported arts and culture throughout Ireland. In 1993, President Higgins became Ireland’s first Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
