President Higgins attended the final of the Veronica Dunne International singing Competition at the National Concert Hall.

Inaugurated in 1995, the Competition was created to honour the lifetime's work of Irish operatic soprano and voice teacher Dr. Veronica Dunne.

President Higgins has been a long-time supporter of the Arts and Culture and was Ireland’s first Minister for the Arts from 1993 to 1997.
