President attends the Macnas 30th anniversary Parade

Location: Galway City, Galway

The Macnas Hallowe'en parade is the largest free event in the West of Ireland, and more than 45,000 people lined the streets of Galway city for the 2016 parade.

Macnas means ‘joyful abandonment’ and President Michael D. Higgins paid tribute to the energy and  artistic talent Macnas have brought to venues around the world, over three decades.
