President delivers a keynote address at the University of Washington, Seattle

In a speech at the University of Washington in Seattle, President Higgins warned against cynicism in politics, and spoke of the importance of science as a potential source for sustainable development - a model of development that “creates employment, develops indigenous industry, builds infrastructure, and addresses the acute needs of the people”.
