President Michael D. Higgins delivered the key note address at the annual conference of independent think-tank TASC.

In his speech, the President spoke about the kind of choices we need to make, as a society, to counter current patterns of growing inequality, the financialisation of the economy and the undermining of social cohesion. He outlined the challenge facing our society, in the shape of the need to craft a more socially accountable version of the economy.
