President and Sabina Higgins joined the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender on a visit to the University of Limerick. At the university, they viewed a selected of rare books and those form the German-Irish collection at the Glucksman Library, participated in an engagement with students on the topics of the Future of Europe in the Popular Reading Room, and viewed a hurling exhibition match at the UL Sports Grounds.
