President Higgins hosted a reception for the incoming Ireland Professor of Poetry, Paul Muldoon at Áras an Uachtaráin.
Mr. Muldoon will be the ninth Ireland Professor of Poetry, taking over from the current holder, Frank Ormsby. The position will run until November 2025.
The Ireland Chair of Poetry Trust was established in 1998 following the award of the Nobel Prize for Literature to Seamus Heaney.
