President Higgins vistier the new Municipal building in old Nicosia, where he met the Mayor, Mr. Constantinos Yiorkadjis and received a briefing on the history and current issues affecting the city.
Nicosia is the last divided capital in Europe, having been split since the establishment of the Buffer Zone.
