St. Kevin's Boys Club is a club famous for the many talented football players it has produced over the years including, for example, Republic of Ireland internationals Liam Brady, Robbie Brady, Jack Byrne, Stephen Carr, Damien Duff, Ian Harte, Jeff Hendrick and Alan Maybury.
On 13 September, President Michael D. Higgins formally opened the club's new floodlit all-weather pitch, located at St Aidan's School in Dublin's Whitehall area, which provides training and playing facilities for the club's teams all year round.
