President officially opens the first International Shaw Conference in Ireland

President Michael D. Higgins' addressed the ‘George Bernard Shaw: Back in Town’ conference.

In his remarks, the President said that Shaw remains “one of Ireland’s and Dublin’s most illustrious sons”, praising Shaw’s contribution as “a moralist, essayist, dramatist, lecturer, advocate and ironist”.
