Higgins launched Coming Home: Art and the Great Hunger, the world’s largest collection of art relating to the Great Famine, at a reception at Dublin Castle. Coming Home: Art and the Great Hunger will open to the public tomorrow, Thursday March 8th and will be on display at The Coach House in Dublin Castle through June; between July and October it will be shown at Uilinn: West Cork Arts Centre in Skibbereen, before moving to Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin in Derry in 2019. Admission is free. The collection’s permanent home, Ireland’s Great Hunger Museum at Quinnipiac University, Connecticut has brought this special collection to Ireland for the first time.
