The President today visited Oberstown Children Detention Campus, to present Gaisce awards to young people having completed the programme.
The detention centre provides education and rehabilitation services to young people sentenced or remanded by the Courts and is one of the detention centres that provide an opportunity for people to participate in the Gaisce programme.
Gaisce, ‘the great achievement’, is a programme in which young people can set themselves a series of personal challenges, with benefits for themselves and their community.
