President Higgins presented actor Gabriel Byrne with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Irish Film & Television Academy.
The presentation took place at a ceremony in the Mansion House in Dublin .
In 2015, President Higgins bestowed the Presidential Distinguished Service Award on Gabriel Byrne, in recognition of his work as a Cultural Ambassador for Ireland. (See here)
