President receives Adam Kelly, Winner of 2019 BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition

President Higgins welcomed Adam Kelly to Áras an Uachtaráin.

Adam Kelly from Skerries Community College won the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition, and went on to win the 31st EU Contest for Young Scientists, with his project aimed at developing a tool to select the optimum algorithm for the simulation of quantum circuits.

Adam has also been working, with fellow students Sam Enright, Clíodhna O'Reardon and Evanna Niall, on a project investigating ways to grow crops in space. The team’s project was selected for tests on a 'microgravity flight'.
