In July 2015, President Higgins paid his second visit to Liverpool - The President also visited Liverpool in November 2012.
Having delivered an address at the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace Centre in Warrington the previous day, President Higgins was awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws by the University of Liverpool.
