President Higgins welcomed Mr. Carlos Lopes to Áras an Uachtaráin.
Mr Lopes is High Representative of the Commission of the African Union, having previously served as executive secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
President Higgins previously met Mr. Lopes at Áras an Uachtaráin in October 2014, and also in November 2014, when the President addressed the UN Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa.
