President Higgins welcomed Dr John Kennedy to Áras an Uachtaráin on a courtesy call.
In 2024, Dr Kennedy provided an endowment to the University of Manchester to mark its 200th anniversary to facilitate a series of annual lectures at the University. President Higgins’ delivered the inaugural address in this series in April 2024 with a lecture entitled ‘Of the consciousness our times need in responding to interacting crises and the role of Universities as spaces of discourse in facilitating it’.
