On 7 September, President Michael D. Higgins received the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Brendan Carr, and the Chief Executive of Dublin City Council, Owen Keegan, on a courtesy call at Áras an Uachtaráin.
Councillor Brendan Carr was elected Lord Mayor of Dublin in June and will serve a 12 month term.
