President Higgins welcomed Mr. Alvaro Lario, President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development, to Áras an Uachtaráin on a courtesy call.
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized agency of the United Nations dedicated to eradicating poverty and hunger in rural areas of developing countries.
President Higgins held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Alvaro in January of this year at the Dakar 2 Summit, ‘Feed Africa: Food Sovereignty and Resilience’ in Senegal.
