President Higgins received Mr. Dev Raj Ghimire, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal, to Áras an Uachtaráin on a courtesy call.
Mr. Ghimire is visiting Ireland following an invitation from Ceann Comhairle, Seán Ó Fearghaíl.
During his visit, Mr. Ghimire will engage with Irish government officials and meet with the Nepalese community residing in Ireland.
In August 2018, President Higgins was guest of honour at a special ceremony commemorating the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ireland and Nepal.
