President Higgins met the participants in a project highlighting the experiences of asylum seekers in direct provision.

The project, entitled “Correspondences: An Anthology to Call for an End to Direct Provision” paired Irish writers with artists and writers in direct provision.

The resulting work was published in a book, edited by poet Jessica Traynor and actor Stephen Rea, the proceeds of which are donated to the Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland (MASI).
