President Higgins received European Championships gold medal winner Rhys McClenaghan at Áras an Uachtaráin.
Mr. McClenaghan became the first Irish gymnast to win a European medal, having also won gold on the pommel horse at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
On 12 August, President Higgins wrote:
