President Michael D. Higgins opened up Áras an Uachtaráin during a visit by Irish soccer star Robbie Keane and his LA Galaxy teammates.
President Higgins spoke to the players and coaches, and had some very warm and kind words for Ireland’s record goalscorer.
In 2016, when Robbie Keane announced his retirement from football, the President paid tribute to “one of the greatest Irish players of all time.”
