President Higgins welcomed the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr. Volker Türk, to Áras an Uachtaráin on a courtesy call.

The High Commissioner for Human Rights is the principal human rights official of the United Nations and is responsible for all the activities of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
