An Taoiseach, Simon Harris TD, visited Áras an Uachtaráin today, 8th November 2024, requesting in accordance with Article 13 of the Constitution, that President Michael D. Higgins dissolve the 33rd Dáil and summon the new Dáil.
President Higgins signed the proclamation for dissolution shortly after 2 pm.
