President unveils a monument to Jimmy Gralton

On 3 September, President Michael D. Higgins unveiled a monument to the memory of Leitrim socialist James (Jimmy) Gralton.

In 1933 James Gralton became the first - and only - Irish citizen to be deported from his own country by an Irish government.
