The President is Patron of the Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel (O.N.E.), a support organisation for personnel of the Irish Defence Services.
The organisation also runs residential homes for ex-service personnel in need of support. The President visited one such centre, Brú na bhFiann in Dublin.
