President visits the Islamic Culture Centre of Ireland on the occasion of their 20th anniversary

The President visited the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland in Clonskeagh.

The Centre was opened by then president Mary Robinson in November 1996 and is one of the largest of its kind in Europe. President Higgins also visited the Centre in 2012, during its annual Neighbourhood Week.

In his speech, the President spoke of the importance of promoting deeper understanding of the creative and intellectual accomplishments of the different traditions and cultures that make up modern Ireland.
