Sabina Higgins signed the ‘Global Commitment to Zero Waste for the World, Our Common Home’, as part of the ‘Path to the Global Zero Waste Movement’ led by the First Lady of Turkey, Ms. Emine Erdoğan.
The President and Sabina Higgins have been strong supporters of the Sustainable Development Goals, and have been advocating the changes necessary to ensure a more sustainable future for Ireland and the world.
In 2020 President Higgins initiated a biodiversity survey to identify ways to protect plant and animal life around Áras an Uachtaráin. Click here to read more about the project
