President Higgins met with the Minister-President of the State of Saxony and the Lord Mayor of Leipzig.
In his speech the Lord Mayor gave a brief outline of the history of the city of Leipzig, with the centrality of trade and commerce at the heart of the city throughout the centuries. Currently there are 50 companies in the city that trade with Ireland.
