President Higgins received Mr Michael Mc Namara from the Limerick Trades Council who presented 'Forgotten Revolution - The Limerick Soviet 1919 - A Threat to British Power in Ireland (The Centenary Edition)'  by Liam Cahill.

The book commemorates the brief existence in 1919 of the Limerick Soviet, a collective of lay-councillors who organised the population to run the affairs of the city independently from the State, before Irish independence.
