President Higgins is Patron of the Irish Kidney Association, and in his message he will pay homage to deceased and living organ donors, who have made possible “that most precious gift, of life and living.”

In 2018, President Higgins marked St. Patrick’s Day by inviting organ donors, recipients and their families to Áras an Uachtaráín, in celebration of the donors’ solidarity and generosity. For more details of that event, click here.
