President Higgins was presented with a signed copy of 'Walk with Gandhi: Bóthar na Saoirse', a book of haiku in Irish and English and commentary by Irish poet, Gabriel Rosenstock.
The book was published by Gandhi 150 Ireland to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi, whose words and actions inspired many social justice activists, in cluding Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr and Civil Rights marchers in Northern Ireland.
Members of the Gandhi 150 Ireland delegation who visited the President at Áras an Uachtaráin were: Gabriel Rosenstock, Eithne Ní Chléirigh, Des Geraghty, Rosheen Callender, Séamas Sheils, Sadanand Magee, Riannach Mitha Semple and Pintu Lohar.
